Just a normal day
I know this is Bob’s blog but I feel I must comment. Most people know that I can be a bitch, even I feel that making Bob continue to be the “wash boy” is probably pushing things. I just want everyone to know that its after 7 pm and I am still doing the wash. Now for 26 out of 34 years of marriage I did the wash, but for the last 8 years that became Bob’s job, hence the “wash boy” title. I either have selective memory or have forgotten all I ever new. I would have been done hours ago if I had remembered to start the dryer, not on one load but twice. Put that with the chili incident of a couple of months ago and Kelly probably needs to worry more about me than Bob. (For those who don’t know the “chili” incident, its really ugly!!)
bottom line. . . . I need my “wash boy” back!
If I did this right, I have attached a picture of Bob last year at this time. This is where we should be instead of the frigid north. If I didn’t do this right, the last comment makes no sense. Click on the titles below. Just a warning, the pictures are really BIG! I’m still learning with the help of my wonderful son-in-law.

Sue or Bob –
I just see one picture “Sunset” — should there be more? The sunset pic has a person walking and one on a bicycle. Great pic and a beautiful sight. So I’m thinking perhaps something is missing or I am doing something wrong.
Regarding the blog entry from Sue…… I sympathize with no wash boy and I know the chili story. That will make a good blog entry another time!
Take care.

Jane,
You are not doing anything wrong. Bob didn’t like the picture I put up there of him so he made me take it down and I haven’t been able to remember how to put another one up. Old age, what a bitch!

Bob/Sue
I remember “wash boy” telling me how to add the soap to the washer. I always put the clothes in and added the soap on top. Bob let me know that was not the correct way to do it. He said you put the soap in first then the clothes. Of course I told Bob I had been doing laundry forever and it didn’t matter. I have to tell you both I never did it “my way” again. What Bob said made sense so I converted years ago.

For all Wash Boys —
I laughed at Sharon’s note because that is almost my story too. I always did laundry the way Sharon described it — clothes in first and then soap on top. When I got my own personal wash boy several years ago, he instructed me that the correct way was to put soap in first followed by the clothes….just like Bob says. I, too, have now followed that procedure whenever I have to do the laundry!!!!
Wonder if old (loving term) wash boys all hang out in the same place and share secrets?????

Nice picture of the Mexican sunset - it couldn’t have been Florida or the people would have had mukluks on and been pushing a dogsled instead of a bike. It should start to warm up down there pretty soon, hope you guys get a chance to make a break for the sun.

The photo of me that Sue put on the blog was not one I would have chosen, therefor since I have the power to “delete”, I excercised that right. I’m sure another will appear soon.
Glad to hear you can teach old dogs (loving term?) new tricks as far as washing goes. Don’t forget rule #2. “If it goes in the dirty clothes hamper, it goes in the washer AND dryer.” Don’t have time to be reading labels in the laundry room. Not what I’m in there for.
I’m sure Florida will be warming up since you and Debbie are back in Texas, Al. Still clinging to hope that we may make it to FL week from tomorrow. Feel better today than I have in a week but had week 2, round 2 chemo today. Will know a lot more by Monday as to how hard this hits me.

Who are the “old dogs (loving term?)” that you are lovingly speaking of?????
