Ding Ding - Round 2 - Take 2
Its Friday we must be in the chemo lab. . .
Good news. The shot on Monday must have worked, Bob’s white blood cell count is very high, which is very good. Red cells are down some but not significantly. Another good news, he felt pretty good today so let’s drip some poison into him! (bad news). Not too much to report. Still on target to get a cat scan after this round. Those results will tell if the chemo is working, so use your prayers, mojo, whatever to have those results show “no new growth”.
If, big if, everything is still on track and he feels good we are going to go to Florida around the 17th. We would really like to use the condo we are paying for, plus its cold here! If not, the Gulf of Mexico isn’t going anywhere, so we can go later. So those of you who are or will be in Florida around that time, be prepared. If I remember the schedule is: cocktails at 4, sunset at 5, seafood dinner at 6 and bed at 9.
You meet the nicest people in the chemo lab. Nancy and Alan Stephenson (for those who don’t know we are in-laws together) were there for Nancy’s chemo treatment. She is a remarkable woman who is fighting colon cancer very hard for a very long time. She is truly an inspiration. Its hard to complain that it takes 2 hours for Bob when Nancy is there for 4, 5 or 6 hours. But its good to see them even if the circumstances are less than ideal.
OK, that’s it from here. Remember comments are always welcome!
Sue
p.s. And a personal thanks to all who are meeting me for lunch. You all know how much I love to “do lunch”. It truly keeps me sane.
- Regina, I commented on the “ding ding round 2″ about your comment on the infamous bee sting.

All sounds good except Sue has the Florida schedule wrong. She reversed two of them. It is coctails (or Diet Coke) at 4, dinner at 5 (actually LATE for the locals), sunset at 6, bed at 9

Sue –
Love the titles that you use for the blog! All sounds good - especially Bob’s Florida schedule (I knew that we had dinner at 5!). Take care this weekend and we’ll talk!

Little Brother,
Help, I am being coerced into being a blogger. I am Bob’s sister and have told him that writing something that people I don’t know (and also people I do know) will read scares me to death. But, Bob told me if I didn’t do this he would write something stupid and “embarrassing” and sign my name.
Those of you who know Bob can appreciate how embarrassing it could be. So I decided to do my own stupid writing.
We talk almost daily so I don’t need to tell him how much I love him–so I won’t! Then again, I love you SOOOOO MUCH!
I should list all the rotten things he did to me when we were growing up (and show you the scar) but I won’t.
It is such a good feeling reading all the comments to know what good friends Bob and Sue have and how much they all care for them and how much fun they have had together.

JEANNE,
Wow. you finally did it. My MUCH older sister is somewhat “computer challanged” but for a good enough reason she was able to post a comment. I’m sure my brother-in-law Jack had a helping hand in this.
For all of you that have older siblings, I am sure you can figure out who took the brunt of rotten things during childhood. (The “eye”) private joke.
With that said, I love you very much. We had our differences and some problems I guess. When we grew up whatever they might have been all went away. We really mean a lot to each other and love each other very much. I know that if I need anything, you would do what you could to make it happen. I know this is tough on you as it would be if things were reversed. I know you and Jack are there for me, and that is what counts.
Love you

Hi Uncle Bob and Aunt Sue,
So I’ve been waiting for a post that I could respond to and this seems like the one…I’m bringing everyone I know to Florida!!!! Hahaha…you are going to have your hands full!! I love both of you and if there is anything I can do I hope you know you can depend on me. I’m coming into St. Louis this next weekend (I have not told my mom and dad, so if you talk to them before they read this, let them know…). Can’t wait to see both of you; I have some BIG news. Love Dan.

Hi, Sue and Bob,
Just thought I would check in and see how you are enjoying this “snow” day! Brent is down in Florida playing golf and just called to tell me it was 75˚ and sunny! I sure was glad to hear from him…not so much!
I hope this week finds you a little stronger and that you can get down to warm weather soon. I love reading the comments from your friends about cocktails, dinner and bed by 9:00! Sounds like our routine!
Take care of each other and let us know how next week goes.
Love to you both,
Mary Anne

It’s Friday so it must be blood test day — good luck…..
Not missing much here in Florida - cold, overcast, haven’t seen the beach in over two weeks, haven’t had shrimp in a week, and certainly haven’t had enough wine.. Beginning to look forward to returning to St. Louis so we can go to “the office”, have some fruit of the vine, eat some of Sue’s shrimp, and tell lies (no shoveling snow - we’ll use the Jeep!!!)…. Sooo, get ready, get better, and thinking of you both every day………

It’s Friday the 16th, and I hope you are on your way to Florida, and out of this cold weather. My nephews are skating on the lake, it hasn’t been frozen like this for 5 years or more. I think you know that we built a house on the other side of the lake from my parents. This way I can keep an eye on my mom, she can’t come or go without either my sister Judy, my brother Mike, or me knowing it, as we all now live around the lake. Maybe when the weather gets warmer, you & Hank can come over and teach Mike how to fish. A lot of people gave him all this fishing gear when we moved in and it has never been used, he needs lessons so he can turn around and teach Katie’s kids, Matthew, Jack, & Emma. Keep warm thoughts.
